About Us

Jurupa Citizen Corps volunteers have been serving the greater Jurupa Valley and city of Eastvale for more than 10 years.  We strongly support FEMA’s mission for Citizen Corps nationwide which is: To harness the power of every individual through education, training, and volunteer service to make communities safer, stronger, and better prepared to respond to the threats of terrorism, crime, public health issues, and disasters of all kinds.

Meetings are held the fourth Tuesday of every month at 7pm. at the City of Jurupa Valley City Hall (8930 Limonite Avenue Jurupa Valley, CA 92509) Participation is open to all residents of Eastvale and the greater Jurupa Valley. Jurupa Citizen Corps activities include:

  • promotion of citizen participation in training by, and/or volunteering for:
    • CERT (Community Emergency Response Team)
    • ShakeOut
    • Neighborhood Watch
    • CREST (Community Radio Emergency Services Team)
    • Public Health Rapid POD (Point of Dispensing)
    • American Red Cross
    • REARS (Riverside Emergency Animal Rescue System)
    • LEAFF (Law Enforcement and Fire Fighters)
  • disaster preparedness education at community events including:
    • Teen Expo
    • National Night Out
    • Family Fun Day
    • Rubidoux Community Fair
    • Believe In Girls (BIG) Girl Scout Conference
    • Eastvale Inauguration
    • Loma Linda University Emergency Coordinators Conference
  • presentations to community groups including:
    • faith-based organizations
    • parent groups
    • Rotary and Kiwanis groups
    • Chamber of Commerce
  • promotion of individual, family, and community preparedness through:
    • sale of personal survival kits as fundraising resource for purchase of community disaster supplies for use by CERT volunteers in responding to disasters
    • deployment of PODs of community disaster supplies
    • online preparedness articles published on this web site, in FBO bulletins and via the public press
    • participation in JUSD Safe Schools meetings and emergency drills.
  • outreach to others affected by disasters around the globe through ShelterBox fundraising

      Yes, the next meeting will be held on January 16th at Country Village in the leasing office, located at 10250 Country Club Drive, Mira Loma, CA 91752.
